Serving our Church, our Community, and Beyond
Christ Calls Every Christian to be a Missionary. This doesn’t mean we have to travel to another country. We can be missionaries in our own community. We each have God-given gifts and talents that can be used to help others. There is an important place for each of us to serve others’ spiritual, physical, and financial needs. In Matthew 25, Jesus instructs his disciples to serve “the least of these.” Our members are involved in a variety of ministries that serve folks in our church, our community, and beyond.
Acts 1:8
His Hope
Honduras
Acts 1:8 Missions
Inspired by the words in Acts 1:8… “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
We encourage all people to respond to God’s call for laborers, whether in our own community,
across the nation, or in a foreign country.
Our Jerusalem = Transylvania County
Our Judea = North Carolina
Our Samaria = North America, with a focus on reaching across cultures
Our end of the earth = the World
Our Acts 1:8 ministry team strives to facilitate local, state, national and international missions.

His Hope
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil,
to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
His Hope Ministry is one committed to serving people in need. We provide hope to our community by meeting both spiritual and physical needs. The first Thursday of every month our food pantry is opened to those in need. By meeting the needs of our community, we have seen many come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Honduras
This Mission started in 2022 with the goal of helping the neediest in remote mountain villages in Honduras. We have seen great progress and we have been moved by the growth of their faith. Recently FBC Brevard built a bridge to aid the Honduran people cross a river during the wet season. Praise God this site has seen several baptisms.
White Squirrel Festival
This is another example of where we meet people where they are. Maintaining a booth at the White Squirrel provides us with an excellent opportunity to fulfill the Great Commission. We share the amazing truth of Jesus to local people and people who have traveled from other areas. Currently, only FBC Brevard provides witnessing opportunities at the White Squirrel Festival.
